1. Time tracking
For time tracking, employees can use ezClocker iOS or Android apps to clock in or out. The app also provides GPS location services, which you can use to verify that employees clocked in at the correct location.
Furthermore, ezClocker supports manual time entry, overtime, clock in/out notifications, and reports.
ezClocker additionally allows your employees to add notes to their time entries. If you need a detailed description covering job performance or issues that have arisen, then employees can add unlimited notes during clock in or after they finish the job.
If the employer wishes for employees to use one device, then ezClocker offers a kiosk app. With this app, all employees can sign in using a PIN number. This is ideal if you have a group of employees working at one job location, such as an office or job site.
2. Scheduling
Employers can easily create schedules using the website or mobile app.
When a schedule is created, it becomes a draft. Then, when you are done with all of your changes, you can publish the schedule, thus making it available to all employees.
Employees also get notified when a new schedule is posted; this way, there are no excuses about them not knowing they were scheduled for a job.
The scheduling feature works well with time tracking, which you can use to restrict employees from clocking in early. When this feature is turned on, you can specify when employees can clock in, such as five or ten minutes before the shift.
For example, let’s say an employee has a shift from 9am – 12pm. In this case, you have the option to implement a five minute marker for clock ins ahead of time.
If your employee tries to clock in at 8:50am, they will be blocked and not allowed to clock in until 8:55am. This is a great feature to prevent overtime from occurring.
If your employees have the same schedule week after week, then you can create a copy schedule and copy shifts out to a maximum of eight weeks.
3. Labor job costs
You may need to pay your employees different rates, depending on their job performance, work setup, or the numbers of hours they work.
If this is your situation, then you will benefit from using the jobs list feature provided by ezClocker.
The feature allows you to add a list of jobs and assign them to all employees or specific employees. When an employee clocks in, they’ll be presented with a list of jobs to select.
Then, when they make their selections, the job will be attached to the clock in. You can also archive old jobs or completed jobs; this way employees don’t see them when clocking in.
In the reports section, you’ll be able to specify and export a jobs report. This will download a report showing each job and the number of hours associated with the job, regardless of who worked on it.
You can use this report to estimate labor job costs or to bill your customers.
4. Reports
ezClocker offers several reports. You can export employees’ timesheets either in a .csv or .pdf file format.
The pdf version has a date and signature at the bottom of the report; this way, employees can sign and date the document. The other reports include exporting all employees’ timesheets for a given pay period, grouped by employees’ names or dates.
The report will show a summary of hours, including regular hours and overtime, with all of the clock in and clock out times for each employee.
Employers will likewise be interested in the ability to group the hours by each job. This will tell you how many hours consumed each job. It’ll even allow you to determine labor job costs and complete invoicing tasks.
