ABOUT

Ever since Google launched, back in 1998, the entire landscape of the internet witnessed a paradigm shift. All of a sudden, hyperlinks (commonly called ‘links’) carried great value and were mainly a vote of confidence. The number of websites that linked back to a page, also known as backlinks, were used as a measure of how good or bad that page was. This revolutionary concept led to the rise of search engine optimization (SEO) practices to improve a site’s online ranking.

Fast-forward to today, and the core concept remains the same for the most part. Even though Google has vastly modified its algorithm, links indeed hold a significant amount of value as to how a website ranks on the global level. As a result, SEO professionals all around the world are continually jostling to increase the number of backlinks to their website. Many experts agree that it is one of the most time-consuming processes in SEO.

Enter Linkio. A company founded in 2017 whose sole aim is to simplify your link building campaigns. It offers cutting-edge features combined with multiple quality-of-life (QoL) improvements for SEO professionals. In this article, I’ll take a look at this SaaS product and break down its features, pricing, and a lot more. Read on to find out if this software can boost your website’s traffic.

PRICING

Linkio provides five different pricing tiers for its customers. The significant difference, as you’ll see, lies in the number of backlinks that are analyzed and the number of websites on which you can use this. Everything else remains pretty consistent across the board. Below is a table comparing the various pricing schemes:

Anchor Text Suggestions

SEOs work best when the decisions are insight-driven and not based on mere guesses. This module helps you build effective link building campaigns for your website, powered by valuable insights.

Anchor Text Profile Planner

Anchor text is what you usually see when clicking a link. It is the word or phrase that is usually in blue and underlined, leading you to a new page on the same website or a new website altogether. This piece of text is crucial to improve your website’s SEO metrics. Linkio offers 13 different anchor text types that make up an ideal backlink profile. It also informs you precisely what anchor text to build and in what order. Complete with percentage values, it gives you a clear roadmap to create a rock-solid anchor text profile.

Set Anchor Text Percentages

Speaking of percentages, it is imperative to define an ideal anchor text percentage for which you are aiming. However, this process is not as straightforward as plugging in a bunch of values and hoping for the best. The ideal percentage will vary based on the keyword of your choosing.

Some keywords may need 30% of the backlinks to have a keyword-based anchor text, while others might need only 5%. You have a plethora of ways to arrive at the number for your use case. You can either use data from competitors’ metrics, set it according to your preferences, or use one of Linkio’s preset templates. The software then gives you a roadmap on how to hit your target.

Anchor Text Categorizer

As you feed backlink data either manually or by one of the channels, the software categorizes it into one of 13 categories. This proprietary algorithm then gives a percentage distribution of the anchor text in each category as well. As the system imports new backlinks, they automatically get added to the respective category without having to lift a finger. This automation keeps your percentages up to date and accurate.

Backlink Crawler And Validator

The software lets you import backlink data from multiple channels (more on this, in the “Integrations” section) to analyze your SEO metrics. After importing, the software crawls each link to see which ones are still active and are ‘dofollow’ as opposed to ‘nofollow.’ This action goes a long way in knowing which links are still contributing to your Google ranks. The crawler also periodically validates these links to make sure only the active ones count towards your SEO ranks. This validation gives a near-perfect picture of how a search engine like Google sees your website.

Backlink Index Checker

Google maintains an index of all links that it deems ‘valuable.’ An unindexed backlink will not affect your Google SEO scores, so there is no real reason for them to be there. Linkio finds out the Google index status of all your backlinks and ensures that there are no unindexed links. The links that are not present do not count towards your overall score, which is a clear indicator of how Google ranks your website/webpage.

Team Management Tools

Medium and large-sized companies often employ multiple people for their SEO needs. The software lets you add all your team members to the platform for no additional charges. They have room for an unlimited number of users to work together. As a result, if a team member wants to know what anchor text to choose next, they can do so straight from the software itself. Bid farewell to cluttered spreadsheets!

Backlink Monitoring

Automatic Backlink Importing

It is quite hard to create a holistic backlink profile without knowing the existing backlinks. It becomes nearly impossible to know what link to build next, without having a clue about the current status. To facilitate this, Linkio allows you to connect your Ahrefs account with the software to import all backlinks automatically. Now, if you do not have an Ahrefs account, you can always bulk import your backlinks to the platform. Finally, it churns through these links, monitors them, and makes sure it keeps your data fresh.

Check Popular Metrics Automatically

There are a few metrics that are essential to improving your SEO scores. Moz, one of the industry’s leading SEO toolsets, developed Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) metrics. These numbers achieve a similar purpose to that of Google’s PageRank, back in the day. The native Moz integration lets you check your DA, PA, and Spam Score for each link. Furthermore, integrating with Ahrefs gives you access to Domain Rating (DR) and URL Rating (UR).

Monitor Link Changes

This feature works similarly to the backlink crawler and validator. It is imperative to have an idea about your active backlinks that are still dofollow. Besides, the software keeps track of whether or not these links are indexed in Google’s index. Moreover, the software crawls through the backlinks periodically to keep everything up to date. This level of automation helps to maintain your SEO scores accurately and report on the same.

View Aggregate Metrics

Undoubtedly, it is crucial to have a granular understanding of how your pages are performing. It helps tailor-make backlinking campaigns to improve their ranks further. However, it is equally important not to lose sight of the bigger picture at hand. How your website performs on a macro scale also matters to its overall SEO score. Linkio gives you aggregate metrics that help you gauge the overall trends of your pages. There are also some neat visualization features that show the variation in keyword rank and the total number of backlinks over time.

Email Reports Of Link Changes

While the software does its part to make sure your links are updated, you should also be able to track the changes over time. For this reason, the software emails you daily or weekly reports that show the changes in your backlinks. Now your database can be up to date while still tracking the progress.

Keyword Rank Tracker

Daily Ranking Updates

Today’s fast-paced world changes by the hour, and new pages and articles flood the internet at an unprecedented rate. Amidst this influx of information, it is essential to keep track of how your page compares with the rest. The software gives you day-to-day updates on how your SEO campaign is progressing. You can also see the weekly and monthly changes in each of your campaigns.

Track Results From Over 500 Search Engines

Search engines are the de-facto way of accessing information on the internet. More often than not, a page gets viewership through search queries initiated by users. This action is the primary reason behind bettering your SEO. For an accurate picture of how your website is doing on the internet, it is necessary to see what various search engines think about your domain and pages. Linkio consolidates the results into one tool and gives you insight into your competitors’ website ranks. This insight lets you remain atop your competitors, but more importantly, the search results.

Track Desktop And Mobile Results

Over the past decade, users have come to rely on mobile phones as their primary computing device. The behavior pattern of a person on the phone versus a person using a laptop does have some variation. As a result, it becomes vital to segment the two categories and analyze them individually. The software lets you do that by filtering based on the device used. You can also choose from over 170 countries to analyze user statistics.

Local Rankings

Planning out your keywords is only half the tale. The other half comes in effectively using these keywords across your webpages. Interestingly, search engines also use local keyword volume to gain an insight into whether your website is relevant to the immediate audience around you. Knowing this, Linkio gives you local and global volume statistics for each keyword automatically.

Page-Level Insights

To gain a thorough understanding of how your website ranks, it is essential to dive into the per-page data. Deeper the insight, the easier it becomes to find out what is going wrong and correct it. The software provides you with aggregate data of performance on a per-page level for maximum visibility. It also gives you an idea if your backlinking campaign is working its magic.

Visualize SEO Progress

It sends emails to track your SEO progress. This feature is similar to how the software sends a scheduled email for your backlinks. There is a handy feature to get a daily report email of the top 50 positive and negative keyword changes. This report helps you recalibrate your SEO campaign daily, thereby potentially increasing your overall rank.

INTEGRATIONS

It is always desirable to have a healthy dose of integrations to go along with the vast expanse of features. On this front, Linkio emphasizes quality over quantity. They offer just four integration options, most of which is an effort to streamline the backlink tracking process. Here are the software that Linkio integrates with:

  • Google Search Console
  • Ahrefs
  • Moz
  • WordPress

Make no mistake, however, as these integrations are compelling in expanding the software feature set. When used in tandem, this software helps tap into previously untapped areas of massive potential.

More About Linkio

Setup And Ease Of Use

Setting up a Linkio account is super easy and straightforward. For the sheer amount of power contained within this software, the setup process is surprisingly streamlined. Before anything, it helps if you have a paid Ahrefs and Moz account(s) to significantly improve your Linkio experience. As discussed in the previous section, they integrate seamlessly with the software to make tracking backlinks a hassle-free process.

Next, you will have to enter details about your brand, your website, and the target audience. This step includes adding information about your preferred search engine, the location of your target audience, and the choice of language. Next, it is only a matter of planning your SEO activities and executing it from within the software.

Overall, the setup process is a breeze, and to a great extent, so is the user experience. All the features are neatly laid out, and the insights are presented to you on the dashboard itself. You can then begin your backlinking campaign, plan your anchor text or track where your page stands, globally.

No

Linkio, being a cloud-based SaaS, works predominantly on the cloud. As such, there are no mobile apps available on any of the major platforms. Personally, a mobile app is something that should exist in today’s day and age. Even if the functionality is limited, access to certain features like reports and insights can be handy on the go.

Customer Support

For any SaaS solution, customer support is of prime importance. Sadly, however, there is not much in the way of customer support with Linkio. The software’s help section contains many useful resources that explain the most common features and its use. There are also some FAQs answered within the help section.

Aside from these resources, there is limited availability of live support. You can draft an email to [email protected], and that is about it. It would have been great to see the inclusion of ticket-based support and a helpline number for the customers to call. As it stands, the customer support does leave a lot to be desired.

Online Security

Security and integrity of data are vital for any cloud-based service. Linkio, too, is no different. They take exceptional care of your data using industry-standard security features. On the server-side, also, they ensure maximum protection and redundancy of storage. These features help ensure that online security is maintained at the highest standard, without jeopardizing user data.

CONCLUSION

In a world dominated by e-commerce and other internet-based businesses, getting your webpage to the masses is an ordeal in itself. Everyone is in the constant pursuit of improving their SEO numbers to rank highly in search engine results. Linkio occupies this niche among a few other software and does a rather commendable job.

Right off the bat, I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed by the features that Linkio brings to the table. The software aims to simplify and automate SEO practices, and it nearly achieves it. The plethora of tools at the users’ disposal is a testament to how the software is put together.

However, it does have its shortcomings. The most starking of which is the below-average customer support avenues. As a paying customer, expecting a ticket-based or telephonic support service is something that I’ve come to expect from SaaS solutions. Aside from this, the lack of a mobile app and other minor user experience issues plague the software.

Ultimately, the choice boils down to what exactly you’re looking for, and the amount you’re willing to shell out on this software. Undoubtedly, it is an excellent investment if your operations’ crux revolves around drawing more eyes to your website. However, if your website just acts as a landing page of sorts, this product may not be for you.
